Abstract

This study focuses on the issue of spatial rights and interests of lowincome communities in the process of urban renewal, with particular attention to residents’ housing safety, the loss of public space usage rights, and their insufficient participation in urban planning and decisionmaking. Through literature review, case analysis, and other methods, this paper reveals the negative impacts of the commercialization of public spaces, the disruption of social networks of lowincome groups, and the inadequacy of participation mechanisms on social equity in urban renewal projects. The study proposes a series of strategies aimed at promoting social justice, enhancing community cohesion, and optimizing the use of public spaces, so as to provide practical guidance and policy recommendations for building inclusive cities.
